Howard fury at McLeod’s scene

This is the McLeod’s Daughter’s scene that reportedly caused John Howard’s office to blast the Nine Network last week.

In the scene Phil the mayor tries to coerce garage employee Patrick to sign a new agreement of more pay through bonuses for hard work.

But Patrick isn’t impressed.

“Well it’s not actually your choice,” says Phil. “It’s either my way . . .”

“I’ll take the highway,” says Patrick. “I quit.”

Crikey says Howard’s office was so incensed it has called Nine’s head of Drama, Jo Horsburgh to “please explain.”

There is no direct mention of Australian Workplace Agreements (AWAs).

  1. hahaha, next we’ll see howard get a pair of mirror shades, grow a bushy moustache, wear karkee and smoke a fat cigar. Maybe we should buy him some bullet proof hats for Christmas, or more accurately, a jogger jump suit.

We are always told that the first thing to go under a dictatorship is the freedom of speech. Well, all I can see if more evidence that we are living in one. All I can wish for is that our government does do away with voting, that way we’ll finally learn our lesson that we have to stop electing these liars.

  2. I agree with jack just bugger off howard! The glass house, big brother, mcleod’s daughters where does it end? With anyone who mildly disagrees with the govt?

  3. This is offensive … the government, and in particular Howard, have to get their dirty noses OUT of our TV shows and concentrate on doing something that actually benefits ALL Australians other than their mates in business.
We are supposed to be a democracy, so let us have our freedom to watch what we want and for TV writer to say what they want without government interference … stop DICTATING!!!
    Jack!
