Motorcyle daredevil Evel Knievel has died, aged 69.
The American stuntman had been in ailing health for some time.
Knievel most-famously attempted to leap the Snake River Canyon in 1974, but despite failing, generated enormous publicity. He even spawned a movie, The Evel Knievel Movie.
In TV he appeared as a guest on shows like The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, The Sonny and Cher Show and played himself on The Bionic Woman series.

How disappointing is it that he didn’t go out in some spectacular wipe-out instead of bad health?
Not to mention, Simpsons episode.
