Buzzers at the ready

Ed Phillips and Livinia Nixon look likely to be recording new eps of Temptation soon, with word the set of their quiz show, was taken out of storage last week.

According to news.com.au, programmers are believed to be eyeing a new start for the show on Channel 9’s schedule, slated for not long after Easter.

The show was to be rested for a nightly-version of Millionaire last year, but Nine thankfully changed its mind at the last minute.

Meanwhile Two and a Half Men is a long way behind Home & Away in the 7pm timeslot.

But what of a replacement for Scott McGregor who has been hosting Foxtel’s Blood, Sweat and Gears?

  1. Even though most people on this site despise 2.5 Men with a stronger passion than your average human, I like it. Its a funny show and its definitely more entertaining than Home and Away, and at least the plots in the show move along and are interesting as opposed to H&A where its more or less been the same thing for 20 years. Its the only program on Nine apart from Terminator:TSCC that I enjoy. Well, I didn’t think Monster House was as bad as others say, and I think it was certainly better than other Aussie shows like Out of the Question and Good News Week, but it got axed. Its been a long time since there was a funny show on at 7pm weeknights, and Futurama/The Simpsons don’t count. The latest show I can recall is Everybody Loves Raymond, but that finished a few years ago now. King of Queens was alright, but in the end it wasn’t different to your usual family sitcom. I’ll be dismayed when 2.5 men is replaced with yet another reincarnation of this game show. Even a nightly millionare would be better.

  2. AH yes, Scott McGregor..going to miss him draped over whitegoods in swimwear on Temptation..he’s painfully bad on Blood, Sweat and Gears I reckon, not helped by the fact that his segments were recorded elsewhere long after the rest of the show was recorded, all looks a little di-jointed to me..Top Gears poor cousin perhaps!
