CW renews big six

America’s CW network has renewed several of its most popular brands including Gossip Girl, Smallville, Supernatural, One Tree Hill, America’s Next Top Model and Everybody Hates Chris.

But still awaiting renewals are Reaper, Aliens in America, Crowned, Farmer Wants a Wife, Pussycat Dolls Present, The Game and Beauty and the Geek.

In Australia Seven has announced Reaper and has previously launched Beauty and the Geek over summer.

TEN has Pussycat Dolls and will screen the ‘Girlicious’ edition, currently airing in the US, this year. It also owns most of the renewed CW shows.

Nine is believed to have the rights to Aliens in America though it hasn’t formed part of their 2008 slate.

America’s Next Top Model and Gossip Girl air on FOX8, with the finale for the latter due on Tuesday March 11.

  1. That’s great news! Now only renew Reaper, and Aliens In America CW please, then I’ll be happy. Get rid of the rest. ESPECIALLY THOSE SLUTTY PUSSCAT DOLLS!

  2. They’d better renew Reaper!! Probably the best new show of the season next to Journeyman and Moonlight. If that wretched Smallville can somehow pull off an 8th season then the much superior Reaper can definitely make it to a second. Its by far the best show on the whole sorry network. Well, Supernatural is good when they have story arcs like the last couple of episodes of season 2, but most of the time its just a boring procedural show, much like your generic cop show only with “the supernatural” instead of criminals.

As for the others, Smallville has been good this season with the arrival of Kara and Lana turning to the dark side, but we all know it won’t last for long before all is good and well again in the land of Smallville where no character development is allowed and the same rehashed “freak-of-the-week” storyline is used in every single episode. Gossip Girl is terrible, One Tree Hill is pretty good although I haven’t seen anything beyond season 2. America’s Next Top Model is boring, Everybody Hates Chris isn’t funny, and I don’t really care about the rest. I will be watching the Girlicious edition of the Pussycat Dolls Presents when it airs later this year. There’s some very nice stuff to look at in that series.
