‘Hannah Montana’ heading to Australia

Uh oh. Look up your daughters, Miley Cyrus is planning to bring her live concert tour to Australia.

15-year-old Cyrus, daughter of Billy Ray, is one of Disney’s biggest stars and with an estimated personal fortune of $A20 million. She has emerged as a favourite of teenage girls with her television show Hannah Montana.

“Australia is a big marketplace for music,” she said. “Nashville tests most of its music in Australia because they’re very open to pop music and country music over there.”

Hannah Montana is a merchandising powerhouse, with her face and name on products ranging from musical hairbrushes and wigs to doona covers.

The teenager’s success at such a young age has some fearing she will fall down the same slippery slope as Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton with stints in rehab or jail.

But late-night partying and boozing is not something that Cyrus is interested in.

“I don’t feel like to go out and have fun you have to be drunk all the time,” she said. “I have enough energy for nine people and I have enough fun without stuff like that, so it’s not for me.”

The Australian concert tour is likely to be part of a world tour.

    grow up and let kids be kids.
    im sure if you actually had any brain cells between you, you may just remember how exciting it is to be young and want to have fun.
    you obviously drank or smoked them away whilst you were perving over Britney spears
    i for one would be proud to take my little girl to see Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus in concert. What fun and happy memories that would create!
    Kids are only kids once. And i want to be part of my daughters excitement!

I sometimes think it’s a little weird too but my older sister is 24 and absolutely loves Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) For her birthday I would love to buy her some concert tickets but can’t find any in Australia, if anyone has any idea I’d love to know when she is planning on coming to Australia for a concert. My sister would love it I bet !!! Thanks

  19. South Parks new episode that aired last nite in the States was a ripper, it addressed the Britney issue in its own unique way and predicted that Hannah Montana will be in the same position Britney is in years to come.

    On HM coming to Australia, did we do something wrong? Why are we being punished like this?? 😛
