Yada, yada… but no Jerry

There have been reports of a return to television for Jerry Seinfeld, but don’t believe it.

Both the comedian and NBC have denied the New York Post story claiming he is in talks to star as himself in a sitcom similar in style to HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, which features Seinfeld co-creator Larry David.

“There’s nothing to it,” NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks told the Associated Press. Seinfeld’s spokeswoman, Elizabeth Clark Zoia, also said the report was false. “We appreciate the enthusiasm, however,” she said.

The Post, which cited unnamed sources, claimed the so-called show was aiming to premiere in June.

  1. I doubt that a show with the big Mr Seinfeld would get shafted to the summer US non-ratings period. It’d be lauded and saved for the primetime fall season.
