I want to believe in Scully & Mulder

Channel TEN is set to repeat The X Files series once more, as part of its TEN-HD sci fi night on Thursdays.

It kicks things off with the Pilot episode at 9:30pm Thursday July 10.

The new feature film version X Files: I Want to Believe reuniting David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson is set for release in Australia on July 24.

Meanwhile The 4400 should soon be concluding with only another five episodes remaining. TEN has also paused Jericho with plans to return it to TEN HD in mid July.

Jericho is also currently screening from the beginning on the Sci Fi Channel with double eps 7:30pm Thursdays.

  1. When TEN announced Torchwood was acquired they committed to 2 seasons. Yet to hear anything otherwise. They never said precisely what would comprise their SciFi nights but I expect it will go to HD at some point.

  2. What happened to Torchwood? When TEN-HD first launched wasn’t it’s Thursday sci fi nights originally supposed to include Torchwood? Will we ever see Season 2..?

  3. Even when HD is the superior force in the land and analog is a thing of the past, we will still see shows on TV from the last 50 years that aren’t in HD.
Is filling a few inches either side of the screen really that important?
I hardly think they will ban all tv shows made prior to 2000 on tv, well, they better not 😛

  4. I for one welcome this! I actually went out and bought a HD box just so I could watch the scifi on TEN. It was a cheapy box, but it does the job.

I wonder how much of the series we will see though?

  5. Seven re-ran only the first season of The X-Files, but that was it. Why is it that Ten has to reserve its TenHD channel for sci-fi shows? Don’t they realize that not everyone has a HDTV?

  6. So Ten is putting Jericho on hold after only a few episodes, with plenty left to show, and is pulling Eureka off air with a whole season still at hand that remains unseen.

And yet they feel it necessary to dig out ancient episodes of The X Files? Episodes that aren’t even in widescreen, let alone high definition?

I can see clearly now, alright… that viewers of the non-ratings-surveyed TenHD are still at the whims of the ADD-afflicted programmers.

  7. interesting, this must mean that they bought the rights back from Seven (many people may not remember, but Seven had the X Files after the initial run finished on Ten, and repeated it late nights – wed/thu i believe)

  8. didn’t channel 7 start replaying the x-files from the start a year or two ago? wonder how long 10 will keep it up, i doubt they have the committment to play all 9 seasons. i have it all on dvd, i think i’ll be sticking to that rather than relying on 10. besides there is going to be an x-files essentials dvd to catch people up for the movie.
