Ben’s ballroom blitz?

Ben Cousins is said to be considering an offer to appear on Dancing with the Stars.

“Yes, he has been approached and he is in the process of deciding,” News Ltd reported Cousins’ manager Ricky Nixon as saying.

But the 2005 Brownlow medallist is reportedly concerned that a flashy television appearance may impact upon his planned return to the AFL next year. AFL footballers Brodie Holland and Anthony Koutoufides have both previously appeared.

Cousins, who has made news for his notoriety could certainly benefit from some good publicity. Pauline Hanson managed to lift her profile through her inclusion in the first series. For that matter Wayne Carey could too.

Five of the forthcoming participants will become very obvious soon with Seven to shoot a “Dancing with the Deals” week on Saturday August 2nd.

Cousins has also agreed to have a television crew follow him for an upcoming documentary.
