Dustin Clare gets Satisfaction

Former McLeod’s Daughters actor Dustin Clare is joining the cast of Showtime’s brothel-based drama, Satisfaction.

He will be play ‘Sean’ the brother of Mel, played by Madeleine West.

Currently shooting their second season in Melbourne, producers have lured Clare back from the US, where he has been living.

“This is the kind of role that you don’t get many opportunities to play so I am very excited about it,” he said. “Joining such an amazing cast is a fantastic opportunity for me to learn, and be part of something which takes risks and produces great results.”

Press Release:
TV Week Logie Award winner DUSTIN CLARE this week joined the cast of SATISFACTION alongside the ensemble of Diana Glenn, Kestie Morassi, Bojana Novakovic, Peta Sergeant, Madeleine West, and Alison Whyte. Dustin will be introduced as a new character, Sean, the brother of Mel, played by Madeleine West.

Dustin is best known for his role as Riley Ward on the long-running series McLeod’s Daughters and won the TV Week Logie Award in 2007 for Most Popular New Male Talent. Since graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2004 Dustin appeared in guest roles in All Saints and Headland, and played the role of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith in the ABC docu-drama Air Australia.

Dustin starred in the 30-minute short film Iron Bird and recently wrote, directed and starred in the short film Cane Cutter, which will premiere at the Palm Springs International ShortFest Film Festival in August. For the last twelve months Dustin has been living in the US after being signed by a manager, and he returns to Australia to take up the role in SATISFACTION.

Speaking about joining SATISFACTION, Dustin said “This is the kind of role that you don’t get many opportunities to play so I am very excited about it. Joining such an amazing cast is a fantastic opportunity for me to learn, and be part of something which takes risks and produces great results.”

Producer Roger Simpson said “Andy Walker and I are delighted that we managed to lure DUSTIN back from Hollywood to play this role. It’s a formidable task to play a central male alongside such a strong and established group of female leads but DUSTIN has embraced the challenge with confidence and flair. Sean is a character with many complexities and flaws and the audience is going to love him.”

Set in and around 232, an up-market city brothel, SATISFACTION reveals the world of five high class escorts and their manager as they juggle the pressures of their private lives with their secret profession.

Unlike anything seen on Australian television, season one of SATISFACTION received nominations for 5 ASTRA Awards including Most Popular Program, and 3 TV Week Logie Awards with Alison Whyte winning the Silver Logie Best Actress for her role as Lauren.

Produced by Roger Simpson and Andy Walker for Lonehand, with SHOWTIME Australia’s Kim Vecera executive producing, the critically-acclaimed series will screen this summer on showcase, Australia’s home of dramatically different television.

SATISFACTION is distributed internationally by FremantleMedia and has sold to many territories including Canada, Poland, Latin America, Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Israel, New Zealand and France.

  2. my daughter and i are hooked on satisfaction- series 1 was awesome but to my complete “satisfaction” the introduction of Sean!!! oh my god – love him!! unfortunately missed out on McLeod’s Daughters but i think i will have to now buy DVD series. Bring on more of Dustin Clare . What a hottie !! ( my daughter is 22 and i am in my 40’s. He certainly does it for us both.

  3. I’m dying for a season 1 DVD release. Only got to watch 4 episodes before showcase was taken away from ‘free for all trial’.

Aussie drama should be shown on a foxtel channel that the basic package user has to maximise viewers for the show!

I don’t subscribe to the movie channels because I own in excess of 700 DVD Movies!
