"Remember him with love"

While Seven’s website has been inundated with messages of condolence, Mark Priestley's former girlfriend, Kate Mulvaney, speaks out.

As family, friends, the television industry and fans are still coming to terms with the tragic passing of All Saints‘ Mark Priestley this week, Seven’s website has been inundated with messages of condolence.

There are over 1000 comments from viewers, totalling 100 pages. His death at the age of 32, as with that of Charmaine Dragun last year, will shatter the illusion that life in the television spotlight is a ‘charmed life.’

Mark’s former girlfriend, who split with him only three weeks ago, has issued a statement.

“Mark was my partner, my best friend, my soulmate and brought great joy to all who knew him,” said actress / writer Kate Mulvaney.

“Thank you to everyone for your kind words. I request that you let us grieve for him and please remember him with love.”

Mark Priestley’s Perth-based parents Richard and Judy said his funeral would be held in Western Australian next Thursday.

They also acknowledged the support their son was given during his illness.

“We are greatly strengthened and helped in this very difficult time by the expressions of sympathy and the kind comments about Mark’s life and career,” the couple said.
