Sydney’s historic boxing venue Hordern Pavilion will host an IBO world title bout boxing match on October 25th. To air on TEN HD, it will be the first time since Jeff Fenech’s heyday that boxing is back on free-to-air TV.
Yesterday in Sydney, Golden Gloves promotions was launched. It is a joint promotion between former world kick-boxing champion Adam Watt and South African promoter Rodney Berman.
Among those slated for the October 25 promotion are former Olympian Adam Forsyth and exciting unbeaten lightweight star Lenny Zappavigna.
Another fight will air on standard TEN in February. The plan is to eventually carry a fight every month. The TEN commentary team will include Australia’s current world ranked heavy weight Kali Meehan.

So are they going to supply me with a “FREE” HD STB so I can watch it?
yeah ten is definitely going in the sport direction. i also remember some boxing match, like a world championship or something in the early hours.
A Ten Sports network in 2009 would be outstanding, please let it be so.
Hopefully more evidence for the rumored Ten Sports channel in ’09
I would not be surprised if Ten has been planning things like the SD channel, more sport (probably in secret) since BB was axed (as the press release stated “that Ten has big plans for 2009.) It would not surprise me if Ten launched their SD “revolution” on the 1st of January next year, complete with a network relaunch…
David, I’m fairly sure TenHD had a boxing match mid morning a couple of months ago. So this will be the second time in a long time that boxing has been on free to air.

Keep this on HD where it belongs. There’s enough televised sports on FTA as it is

Ten are really making a challenge to Fox Sports with the netball the NFL NASCAR and now boxing?
