Nip / Tuck cast want a little salary botox

As they get started on filming their final season, the cast of the plastic surgery drama are putting their current salaries under the knife.

“Tell me what you don’t like about your salary…”

The sixth and final season of FX’s Nip/Tuck begins filming on Monday but there are reports the stars are deep in salary renegotiations.

Talks for stars Julian McMahon and Dylan Walsh and regulars Joely Richardson, Kelly Carlson and Roma Maffia (a regular on Boston Legal) have been ongoing for weeks.

For the last series, McMahon and Walsh secured about $125,000 an episode (a far cry from Home & Away, eh Jules?), with Richardson close behind at about $100,000.

This year, McMahon and Walsh reportedly are seeking to double their salaries, and the other cast members also are seeking substantial raises.

McMahon and Walsh have brought in seasoned litigator Marty Singer, who represented The Sopranos star James Gandolfini in his 2003 renegotiations against HBO.

The second part of the interrupted fifth season of 8 episodes will air in January 2009. The final sixth season of 19 episodes will end in early 2011.

Sadly there is still no sign of Nine airing the fourth series in Australia yet. It screened in the US as far back as September 2006.

  1. I’ve given up on channel 9 ever showing Nip/Tuck properly. I bought the season 4 DVD set when it first came out and finished it in no time. It was fantastic. I can’t wait to see season 5. I’m sure the DVD’s will be out before channel 9 shows them.

All the more reason why viewers would rather download the fourth season then watch it immediately. I just got S3 and S4 on DVD. We already know that Nine has “fast-tracked” Fringe directly from the US, as soon as it airs there, so I assume that it is Nine’s policy to fast-track shows. If that is true, I cannot see why Nine shouldn’t air S5’s episodes in January 2009 after they show S4 in Summer, but at that time, I would have finished watching all of S4.
