The Lost postcards

Lost has released a series of art deco designed postcards, as it gears up for its next season.

Lost has released a series of art deco designed postcards, as it gears up for its fifth season.

Using classic imagery and styles, the postcards draw upon the mystery of the island, with teaser words like “Don’t Be a Stranger. Come Back,” “Experience the Unexpected” and “The Island Cures What Ails You.”

Hopefully Seven will kick off the new series as soon as the tennis ends. But it’s almost certain to be a 10:30pm timeslot.

You can check out more postcards at i09.com

  1. i would like to invite channel 9 to my pole.

first of all for all the reasons already mentioned above, especially to much 2.5 men.

can i reinstate that ch9 somehow find ways to destroy the seemingly undestroyable shows, namely the mentalist. this show is on occasions the #1 show in the US. it is not a serial, has an aussie actor in it, and is a great watch. seems foolproof, yes?

but 9 just had to change timeslots, put it up against developed similar shows, take weeks off, have a fake season final, finish a week before NRP etc. all thing that should not be done to shows when trying to build an audience. and the ratings responded, most episodes did not even make 1 million.

    nicely done 9

  2. why do people complain about 10:30 shows, the network puts a bad show on and people complain about airing trash, they put a good show on and people complain that it should be earlier i think we should cut the networks some slack. its not even that late and if it is, just tape it. it happens with survivor, prisonbreak, heroes, the office, terminator.

you lost fans should be counting your blessings, 7 has so many shows that would rate better in 10:30 thursday (assumption) but instead they are showing your show. i used to like this show but then the whole smoke monster thing lost me. i doubt i will ever be able to watch again i’m too far behind. i don’t hate it i’m just saying i am unbias. if i were a 7 programmer i would have said; stuff the fans, there are barely any of them, shaft it to 11:30/HD.

@charlotte, i’m sure the fact that its finishing up has impacted their decision, but if anyone thought that it could regain an extra 1mil viewers and become a hit, they would have it at 8:30, but we all know that will never happen.

its just TV’s circle of life, old shows need to leave to make way for new stuff.

  3. oh i really wish all you guys taking it out on 7 would think before you comment.

as good as the show may be, you need to face the facts that it is not a good rater. anyone that is upset that it is at 10:30 sounds so glass half empty. any other network would have dumped it / sold to foxtel / put it at 11:30 / HDonly ages ago and replaced it with a show that rates so that the network can make money.

an 8:30 timeslot would not raise viewers. anyone that has tuned out has missed too much of the complex story and will never return. there are only 4 weekday 8:30 timeslots which is usually where the best rating shows go. how is it a good thing to please 300k and displease 1mil. <<now that would be disrespecting viewers.

what motive does 7 have to respect the lost viewers when the viewers do not respect the show enough to watch it.

if you really cared about the show the hour of lost sleep should be a worthwhile sacrifice.

  4. I suppose one of the reasons that 7 would be putting it into a 10.30 (besides them just being 7) is that this is indeed Lost’s second last season. Lost could be the most popiular show on 7 but it would be a bit useless because come mid-2010 it would no longer be on the air. 7 could pump it up and promote it now but they would lose all those viewers in a year and a half when Lost finishes unless they can hook them in to something else. I dunno, just a thought I had.

  5. OMG paull, did you just have TEN and respects audience in the same sentence :O

i love lost, but get real guys. 7 was generous enough airing the majority of the appauling rating season 4 at 9:30 and they put heaps of promo and effort into it. there’s only so much profit they can sacrifice for a show that obviously has no future. they need to put shows that people watch on. It’s not Lost or ch7’s fault. the whole world is turning their back on serialized shows no new viewers will ever come into such a complex show, they will only leave. its happening on all networks. even america where you can’t blame it on fasttracking

if you guys are happy to suffer through bad quality downloads just to see it a few hours before FTA then thats your choice, you can’t expect a network to revolve around you.

keep in mind: had 9 scored it it would have never aired and been sold to foxtel in a year (like terminator) or just been treated the way fringe has. had it been on 10 it would have been on HD only (smallville, torchwood, eureka, 4400, battlestar) and disapeared completely when ONEHD came in. so we kind of have the best of 3 evils

  6. Cant seven try a 8.30 slot once more with some heavy promoting? if it can pull off 700k to a million it wud still be worth it, i hate to see this show wasted at 10.30 with viewing numbers slumping to 200 – 400 k. i guess they’re basing it on what they’ve had with prison break and heroes, u cant lock in new viewers to an ongoing complex story, so numbers will be low. real shame

  7. If you look at some of the designs you will see the logo for Ajira Airways.

A quick Google search will then lead you to Ajira Airways website (copyrighted to ABC Inc).

The site becomes live on the 21st of January and prompts you for you email address so to receive updates.

  8. Man this is why I hate channel 7 now. They don’t care about the viewers. Prison break and heroes have also been pushed to 10:30pm, to make way for repeats of older stuff. Makes sense.. .

Channel 10 would have to be my favourite channel, now i do hate Big brother (im glad its not coming back again) and they have annoying little channel 10 promos, BUT they seem to respect the viewer a bit more. On our panasonic dvd recorder with a 7 day epg, they are the only channel that puts up the actual time a show is going to start.

So if it’s starting 3 minutes late and ending 1 minute late, they will adjust the time accordingly, such as 19:33-20:01 for simpsons the other day.Channel 7, my most lothed, happily starts their programs up to 7 minutes late, and sometimes 5 minutes early?? I must 5 minutes of Prison break the other week because they decided to start it early. Good job channel 7!

  9. they need to put it on a bit earlyer and advertise it a bit more because who going to watch it at 10 30 it was 1 of there most popolour shows and they will reck it if they dont do that

  10. well it starts back in US jan 21 with a 2 hour ep. my bets on ch7’s timetable are
(i’m trying to be reasonable not an idiot fan that wants it at 8:30)
    Thu 22 jan: tennis
Thu 29 Jan: 2 hour premier starting at 9:30 (still in NRP) – they did it with last years final
Mon or Tues or Wed: 10:30 Ep2 (to catch up, NRP)
    Thu 6 Feb: 10:30 Ep3 superfasttracked

or maybe just another 2 hour episode on Feb6, that would get ch7 airing it within hours of its US airing, so there would be less people downloading which is the only way to get it to rate.

  11. I expect international internet traffic to increase markedly about two hours after the new season’s US premiere 😉

I can’t trust Seven on a show as important as this. Sorry.
