The Bio channel will premiere a documentary on the joy and pain of being a dancer with Blank Canvas.

Filmmakers Tim Slade and Joanna Buggy, of Vast Productions, began shooting in 2007 in the aftermath of the tragic death of Tanja Liedtke, who had been on the verge of commencing her role as SDC Artistic Director – a position previously held by Graeme Murphy for 30 years.
SDC Executive Director Noel Staunton engaged three internationally renowned guest choreographers to create one work each during 2008, from a blank canvas. One of these, Spanish-born Bonachela (pictured), applied for and succeeded in being appointed to the sought after role of Artistic Director.

Director and co-producer Tim Slade said: “The film, overall, is a celebration of what human beings can achieve and the joy and pain that a ‘calling’, like being a dancer or a choreographer, will bring.”

As principal sponsor of SDC, Foxtel is proud to share with our viewers this insight into the lives of these amazing performers.”
