huntFitzroy Hunt Island resort, a key location in 2009’s Biggest Loser series, is up for sale.

In April the Queenslant resort went into receivership with estimated debts of at least $65 million, just months after opening.

A receiver now says the assets will be offered for sale with vacant possession.

“The exact timing and process of the sales campaign is currently being assessed and the receivers expect to make a further announcement in the near future,” Greg Moloney said.

Manwhile  the resort will remain closed to guests.

Previous talk of a fire sale suggested it might net no more than $15m.

Last November the TV show was banished from using its former location, ‘The White House’ in Duffy’s Forest, in northern Sydney forcing it find a new home.

  1. I’m not surprised, I tried to book a family holiday there after seeing it on biggest loser and got nothing but resistance from the resort. The main issue was getting to and from the island & flight arrival times that didn’t link up with the public ferry. In the end we went to Port Douglas and had a great time.

  2. Well the only reason TEN used this location last year was because they were still preparing Camp Biggest Loser weren’t they? So I don’t see why they’d bother going back again next year.

  3. Fire Sale? 15 million; thats a cheap set for Ten is it not? They paid $20 mil for the masterchef kitchen and $30 mil for the BB house haha! They should buy the island resort…..just kidding.

Another location change for TBL 2010?
