Biggest Loser host to be revealed

blhTEN will announce its 2010 host for The Biggest Loser tonight on The 7PM Project.

The new host will be chatting with the team.

Names speculated so far amongst media include former contestant Alison Braun, Jackie O, Hayley Lewis and even Magda Szubanski -who subsequently ruled her name from the running.

Jackie O no doubt has much on her mind following her husband suffering burns during a burn-off at their weekend retreat.

An outside chance is former MasterChef host Sarah Wilson, who is also taking up presenting roles in Pay Television.

Former host Ajay Rochester finished her reign with the show after four seasons.

It is most unlikely a male will win the position.

TEN previously used The 7PM Project to announce some of its Celebrity MasterChef contestants.

Update:  Now to be revealed during the 5pm News. Will it be Hayley Lewis as tipped by TV Tonight in August?

  5. I hope it isn’t Alison Braun because it will be weird to see a contestant coming back to host the show, or Jackie O because then the show gets axed. I’m also glad that it isn’t Magda, because she’s a comedian and would look terribly out of place hosting Biggest Loser. Sarah Wilson though will be pleasing as she’s nice and doesn’t take over the show like many hosts.

  8. Sarah Wilson would be great. How rare for a host to have such a dignified exit from a high profile show. She deserves a chance with a show that could use her properly.

  12. It’d be great if Sarah Wilson got the gig.

    Her “barely there” hosting of Master Chef was a breath of fresh air compared to other hosts and presenters who consistently make the show all about themselves eg. Grant Denyer, Daryl Somers, Eddie McGuire, Kyle Sandilands…

    Which means the most likely person will be the blonde, plastic and Kyle’s partner in crime – Jackie O!

    She was a dud on Undercover Angels, Australian Princess and Big Brother – so if TEN wants to see Biggest Loser axed – she is the logical choice.

    Wasn’t there a readers poll that had Jackie O the second most hated person in Australia? Behind Kyle and ahead of Austrian child abuser Joseph Frietzl???

  13. I’ve just heard whispers that it will be Dicko. His ‘Jen for Men’ weightloss battle is ‘indirectly’ prepping him for the role.
    This also poses the question… Is this Idol’s last year?

  15. The Jackie O thing has to be a joke!

    I think Sarah Wilson could be a good choice… She was very gracious in not hosting masterchef, and last year did an article with one of the women’s mags about managing her weight given her thyroid problem.

    Againi though – Please not Jackie O.!

  17. @Mydoona: Just because Alison Braun denied it on FB, doesn’t mean it won’t turn out that she’s got the job. Even in a boring old office, I had to wait to tell my workmates about my promotion until it had been officially announced.

    Just so long as it’s not Jackie O. Blech.
