New Doctor Who pic

Check out the new promo pic of Doctor Who with Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor.

A new promo pic of Doctor Who has been released with Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor.

The montage also included his companion Amy Pond, played by Karen Gillan.

There is some speculation a new trailer may be released shortly by the BBC.

So far there is no start date for the new series, which leads with the episode “The Eleventh Hour”, except it is coming in the UK spring.

  1. @Tomothy: Well it can’t be any more childlike than the first season in 2005. Well the first half anyway. I think the spin-off series took the pressure off Doctor Who to be everything-to-all-people. Thankfully.

  2. I just wanted to say this proves that TV Tonight is the place to get your info, Thank you David I doubt any of the newspapers would dare to show this pictures, so again Thank You.

  3. There’s going to be a trailer shown on Saturday in the UK, and rumours of a start date for the series around April 3rd. So fast tracking the episode wouldn’t hurt. Amy Pond a companion for the Dads.

  4. The character in the corner is a “smiler”. And Doctor Who is a family show so that includes children but with the Moff in charge I think it will be even scarier than before and there are rumours it will also be a little more grown up and also aimed at the occasional viewer as much as the fan!

  5. I don’t know, if you’re going to have the youngest doctor ever, shouldn’t his clothes be updated a bit?

I’m going to dearly miss David Tennant. I’ll give Matt Smith a go, but I don’t see him living up to the high standards Tennant set.

  6. That is a spectacular image and if the new Steven Moffatt episodes are half as good as that pic suggests then I think Who really has been turned up to 11. Interesting that Smith himself (like Tennant) has been credited with picking the outfit (with the Grand Moff favouring an Indiana Jones/Jack Sparrow adventure hero look). Now all we need is a release date from the BBC and quick turn-around to the ABC (fast tracking might be nice Aunty!!!).

  7. The character in the bubble in the bottom right hand corner is terribly reminiscent of the scary Gentlemen in the Hush episode of Buffy (you know, the episode where no one could speak!). Can’t wait!
