Sam Newman to fight charge

The Footy Show's Sam Newman will contest a charge of criminal damage arising from an alleged road rage incident last year.

Lawyers for The Footy Show‘s Sam Newman today told the Melbourne Magistrates Court he would contest a charge of criminal damage arising from an alleged road rage incident last year.

Newman is alleged to have caused damage worth $302.50 to a car in Middle Park on July 10th.

David Galbally QC, told the court Newman is prepared to go before a jury to fight the charge.

A committal hearing has been set down for April 12th.

Newman did not appear today.
