Nine's children's series Lockie Leonard has been sold to Disney XD, a US channel aimed at boys aged 6 - 14.

Channel Nine children’s series Lockie Leonard has been sold to Disney XD and will premiere in the US in June. The US channel is aimed at boys aged 6 – 14.

The Logie-winning series based on Tim Winton books, follows Lockie (Sean Keenan) as he navigates his way through the intense experiences of being a teenager, and is set against the surf coast of Albany, WA.

Jenny Buckland, CEO of the Australian Children’s Television Foundation said, “The sale to Disney XD is a great break through for us as the USA is always a tough market to crack for Australian shows.

“We’re thrilled that Lockie Leonard has broken the drought and can’t wait to see how US audiences respond to this warm and funny show which brings real boys and all their lovable foibles to life.”

Disney XD has picked up the second season of the series which features Rhys Muldoon, Clarence Ryan, Briony Williams and Gracie Gilbert.
