  1. @ Patrick …. The Doctor has visited Australia recently …
Firstly in recent issues of the Official Doctor Who Magazine from the UK in their comic strip …
We had a visit from the Fifth Doctor last year (Peter Davison) and it was a pleasure to meet and chat to him …
Only two weekends ago we had a visit from the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann) who was also a pleasure to meet and interview … interview will be available at dwcv.org.au next month …
But, it is Definitely time that they filmed a new episode here in Australia!!!
    Jack!

  2. Patrick: The Doctor made a trip to Australia (not really, it was filmed in England but some of the story was based in Australia.) in the Patrick Troughton story “The Enemy of the World ” (Dec 1967-Jan 68). Only one ep exists – Ep 3.

Can’t wait till 18th April. I will be there watching Matt Smith.

  3. Not a big fan of the new Doctor Whos, nothing beats the days of Tom Baker as Doctor Who from the ’70’s which is when it became a cult classic.

  4. Matt Smith certainly looks very easy on the eye – will be interesting to see how he goes.

I reckon it’s about time (excuse the pun) the good Doctor made a trip to Australia -I can’t recall the last time he visited our fair country.

  5. Lucky David for getting to see it 3 weeks before the air date, and legally. I remember when the franchise got rebooted 5 or so years ago and someone in Canada (I think) leaked the pilot. Probably the reason other countries cant fast track it any more?

  6. As a Doctor Who fanboy for most of my 42 years, and as a sober, serious and impartial journalist, I also give ‘The Eleventh Hour’ two thumbs up. (And it was a pleasure catching up with you today, David.) I look forward to your review, too – I’m still trying to write mine!

  7. It’s good that Matt and Karen have been given the thumbs up.

With both the K9 and Eleventh Doctor episodes coming up it looks like very interesting times are ahead.

  8. To all the nay sayers, give the man a chance. Just don’t turn off after the first episode. From some of the trailers out there, we are in for a ride. Looking forward to the review.

  9. That totally sucks David! You get to see it before the fans do … i am extremely jealous …
We are all hanging out for this weekend to see the first episode of the new K-9 series on Ten at 9.30am Saturday … and then the first episode of Matt and Karen … yeah, we are all flying to London for the weekend!!! 🙂
    Jealous jack!
