Doctor Who: “The Time of Angels”

Here’s a look at “The Time of Angels,” the first episode of a two-part Doctor Who story written by Steven Moffat.

In this two-parter, the Doctor and Amy meet River Song, reprised by Alex Kingston, and the Doctor is recruited by Father Octavian, to hunt the last of the Weeping Angels in the ruins of Alfava Metraxis.

The second episode in this story will be “Flesh and Stone” but these were actually the first ones filmed with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan. Who fans will surely be looking closely at performances…

  1. I am loving what Moffatt has done with Doctor Who. It’s like a minor reboot.

Matt Smith is awesome, and has silenced all his detractors in about two minutes on air.

My thoughts are that Russell T Davies gave us a friendly, exciting new vision of Doctor Who over his five year reign, but because of his commercially popular style he has left Steven Moffatt a product which can be molded into the more creepy, scary version that all Who fans remember from the Hinchcliffe/Holmes era.

    Truly a new classic.

  2. This is what I have waited for since Moffat took over … the return of River Song who I think is an awesome character, and his Angels … man, Steven Moffatt is an amazing writer … even better than Russell T Davies!
    Jack!

  3. LOL – reminds me of the scene regarding the sonic screwdriver’s red setting and dampers (or lack thereof) in Silence in the Library.

    River Song + Weeping Angels = ♥

  4. I wasn’t a big fan of River Song but the angels in Blink were one of the best stories (if only Sally Sparrow was back…). Agree with you Jacob I enjoyed how Tom’s doctor had so many “moments” with his beloved TARDIS.
