This Thursday night Kerry O’Brien will interview President Barack Obama.
O’Brien will be presenting The 7:30 Report from Washington on Wednesday and Thursday.
Landing the US President for a face to face interview in the wake of his postponed Australian visit is a big coup.
The interview will stream live on abc.net.au/news and can be watched on ABC iView the following day.

I agree Damo good choice of having Kerry do the interview.
Great coup for Kerry and co… Must watch TV is back!
this will be good. because it is the best interviewer on australian tv interviewing him. not some mickey mouse person like some from 9 or 7
This might give kevUN the idea to do some political interviews rather than “light entertainment” to talk about his Facebook status…. Then again it’s an election year might not be a great idea talking about his failed and unmet policies!
It’ll certainly be one to watch. I wonder how Kerry will approach it? Reverence or hard-hitting. I know which one I’d rather see.
I don’t want to give any ideas here, but maybe ABC would like to get Sky News back for their exclusive Australian Bush interview a few years ago by putting a massive ‘blockmark’ under Obama’s chin? 🙂
Big coup indeed. Well done 7:30 Report. I’ll be watching.
Will be worth it just to hear Kerry say “President Obama – welcome to the program.”
(Oh, how my nerdish sides ache!)
