Controversial ABC comedy John Safran’s Race Relations is up for two awards at the prestigious Rose D’Or Festival in Switzerland.
The other Australian nominee is The Last Confession of Alexander Pearce, another ABC production.
Last year ABC’s The Eternity Man won an Arts award.
Race Relations will compete in the comedy category against a UK dominated field including The Kevin Bishop Show, The Armstrong and Miller Show and School of Comedy.
It is also up for a Social Award against An Englishman in New York, Ballet Boyz, Cast Offs and more.
The Last Confession of Alexander Pearce is up for Drama & Mini Series against titles including Parenthood, Misfits, An Englishman in New York and Royal Wedding.
Other shows competing in the Festival include Eurovision, Psychoville, The Inbetweeners, Top Gear, Outnumbered, Coach Trip, Hot Seat (UK), and In the Night Garden.
The Rose D’Or awards will be announced in September.

Chris Lilley, The Chaser and Comedy Inc-Late Shift have been nominees for this in past years, I think. Pretty sure only Lilley won his category.
Great to see Aussies recognised by the Rose d’Or festival. And huge congratulations to The Last Confession of Alexander Pearce. This film has quietly been flying the flag and winning awards all over the world for the last year or so. ABC can still make great drama and this film deserves all the accolades and awards heaped on it.
It is kind of hard to respect a competition where “Coach Trip” is nominated! haha
Would you believe controversial.
Oh for the day the word contoversial does not appear in a story referencing John Safran.Clever,talented,unique…yes.
