From the department of Believe This One When it Happens….
Doctor Who scriptwriter Gareth Roberts is keen to get Lady Gaga to make an appearance on the series.
“She is no stranger to dressing up and would be more than a match for the Doctor,” Roberts told OK! Magazine.
He’s even gone so far as to create a storyline for a potential Gaga guest-starring role, although he has yet to reveal what it would be.
She could even BYO alien costume.
Gaga hasn’t signed on the dotted line, but “It would be a great coup to get her,” Roberts said.
Blame Kylie’s ‘Titanic’ role on Who for this one?

Lady Gaga, another over hyped non entity. She will be a footnote in history in a few years time.
Does anyone remember Rickie Martin ?
I can see the points that KFed & AJay raise. The overall stories are weak & almost trivial outside of the central idea for each show. Fans, by definition, tend to suffer from blind adoration regardless of true content & so continue to see the emperor fully dressed. In this context of style & short attention span, a Lady Gaga guest role would almost be logical. Think of the preview! ;=)
I’m a big fan of the casting, but the storylines this year have been awful. Really awful.
Worst idea ever. She’s frakking awful.
Lady Stupid.
Please no, not on Doctor Who.
Ugh.
I and every Dr Who fan I know absolutely loves this season. We can’t all be wrong…!
@Nathan, I’ve seen alll the eps of the current season (from other sources). I found that two parter was very unexiting, not saying any more becuase I dont want to ruin it for anyone. This weeks was okay, however the the resolution of the demon of the week ended like 10 mins early, and had mainly filler at the end.
Everyone, this new season of doctor who is fantastic. No doubt about it. And did anyone see ABC news? The news reporter swore!
lady blah blah
S5 has not been dumbed down… it’s just not very good.
The core ideas are there, but the enactment & scripts
aren’t… the latter being more of a vehicle for sound bites
& promo material. Looks like more of a bias towards
style than substance, I’m afraid…
Unless SM can tie together all of the threads
convincingly in the finale, this transitional season will
have been a little bit of a disappointment.
@tomothy, Series 5 has not been dumbed down. Doctor Who was original aimed at Children and it changed because it came a family show. And it still is, so far Series 5 has dealt with vivisection or well allusions to it, a dream reality or realities where the only way to end was to choosing the real reality and committing suicide in the dream. The next two episodes will deal with things not seen in a so called dumbed show.
Lady Gaga…alien life form…wouldn’t really be acting would it?
Wasn’t this denied later in the week and yet it still keeps popping up everywhere – I’ve had five google alerts today!
The Kylie rumour was out for a while and even dismissed by RTD before it was officially confirmed, so anything’s possible. GaGa could definitely BYO Monster costume!
I’ve liked this season so far, I don’t think they have done a bad job in the transition to the new Doctor but the ‘Time Crack’ is taking it’s time to open up (no pun intended).
As for Lady Gaga, I hope it doesn’t happen, the show doesn’t need it IMO.
Will the doctor be able to identify her species?
fingers crossed it’s a non-speaking role.
Bring it on ! This would get more people watching Dr Who !
Hell no! Better not happen. This season of Doctor Who has been woeful. (Yes, I know the specials last year were rubbish too)
The stories are no longer compelling, and I’m constantly getting out my phone to play Angry Birds because more happens in that game than on the show.
Doctor Who has been dumbed down a lot, and aimed at children. Even The Sarah Jane Adventures has better and more compelling stories as well as better monsters. Definately looking forward to new SJ and Torchwood to help with the loss of quality Who.
Wow! I am all for that one!
Go Gareth … you can do it!
I don’t think Doctor Who needs stunt casting. Even when they get big names on board, like Derek Jacobi or Bill Nighy, it’s usually because they really want to do it.
As previous Doctor David Tennant would put it, “What?!”
