A Burn Notice prequel movie is in the pipeline according to series creator Matt Nix and producers.
The news filtered out via a Q & A panel moderated by Chris Vance at Comic-Con in San Diego.
The prequel will reportedly be an action-adventure story set before the start of the series that follows retired Navy SEAL Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell) on his final mission “as a military guy” before he ended up in Miam with Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan).
It will, not surprisingly, be an action-oriented movie, and the regular characters (Fiona, Michael, Madeleine) aren’t expected to be in it. In a post-panel interview, star Bruce Campbell seemed to think there might be a small presence for some of the show regulars.
Nix said that he’d estimate the time frame of the events in the movie to be about a year before Sam and Michael and Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) began working together, but that could change.
Campbell will also be a producer on the film.
Filming is expected to take place in Latin America between Seasons 4 and 5.

Yes this is DTV.
I saw something about this from the Burn Notice group on Facebook. Top idea, Bruce Campbell is a legend.
Yeah TV movie? DTV? Or Cinema?
I assume a DTV?? You know like the Stargate ones. Then it’ll be aired on tv.
Burn Notice is a truly excellent show. One of the best on TV. It’s always entertaining even in the weaker episodes which are far and few between.
I don’t know of any other show that has done an on going story, combined with a story of the week as well.
The Chin for the win…
Sounds interesting but will this be a TV movie or cinema?
Can never have too much Bruce Campbell!
