Now that the election is (seemingly) over, Insight can turn its attention to other topics, such as “Sexual Attraction” and the science behind what ignites the flame.
If you’ve ever wondered why you’re inexplicably attracted to someone, Insight will look into what the scientists are discovering. Experts and academics will cover the science of attraction, from speed dating to what happens to the human brain when people fall in love.
Guests include:
• A Sydney couple who have been together for 55 years
• A couple who are in an arranged marriage
• New York biological anthropologist Helen Fisher (talking about the human brain)
• UK psychologist Ian Penton Voak (talking about what we find attractive in faces)
• American academic Dr Paul Eastwick (on speed dating)
It airs Tuesday August 24 at 7.30pm on SBS ONE.

I should’ve watched Modern Family! The discussion didn’t really go anywhere and there were no answers….
No homosexual couples were featured.
What I saw was still about sexual attraction and could be applied to all, but surprised there were no gay couples.
Ok, I’m skipping Modern Family and Rules of Engagement!!
I bet it’s only about heterosexual attraction, which ‘science’ can ‘explain’ 🙁
It’s SBS. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
I agree. I might actually watch this.
thank god there is no Govt topic this week.
Nice to have something non political, in what will be a fascinating fortnight and beyond. Being SBS I hope they reflect a more holistic population, and look outside of the square.
