Jennifer Aniston to guest on Cougar Town

Two former Friends co-stars will re-unite when Jennifer Aniston makes a guest appearance alongside Courteney Cox on Cougar Town.

It will be the second time the two have performed together since the end of the long-running show, after Aniston appeared in Cox’s previous series, Dirt.

“She’s going to play Courteney’s shrink named Bonnie,” creator Bill Lawrence.

“Kind of a get-too-involved-in-her-life-type of therapist. Those guys are so close in real life they kind of do that for each other anyway. Bonnie has the life Jules (Cox) wishes she has.

“It starts and ends with Courteney and Jennifer being really great friends and excited to work together again—especially doing comedy together,” he said.

Lawrence is hoping that if all goes well, Aniston could become a semi-regular, and created the character to suggest that the character of Jules has been consulting with Bonnie for some time.

“Every day that those two talk they have more ideas about [the role]. It’s definitely something they’re both involved in creatively.”

Aniston will appear in the second season premiere.
