Doctor Who Christmas special: trailer

The trailer for the next Doctor Who special, "A Christmas Carol," has been revealed.

The next Doctor Who special, “A Christmas Carol” was revealed on Friday as part of the UK’s annual charity event, Children in Need.

Writer Steven Moffat has said of the story, “It’s all your favourite Christmas movies at once, in an hour, with monsters. And the Doctor. And a honeymoon.”

This year the special is fast-tracked by the ABC to air in Australia on Boxing Day, just hours after its UK broadcast. Can’t wait for that one.

Matt Smith and Karen Gillan also appeared in Children in Need with a bit of a treat for some young Who fans -you can watch that here.

  1. Oh I just realized it will be Monday morning our time as Sunday is Dec 26 and the UK is behind us. Either way having the ABC air it just hours later will boost it’s ratings and it looks like a cracker of a story.

@ben if it’s so lame then why click on the story. IMO even lame or bad DW is better than 95% of other shows out there and it will make a great alternative to the usual mix of xMas shows and re-runs that week.

  2. Craig it will go out around 7am our time. And although I do run several Doctor Who=based sites and groups and could be spoilt I’m really looking forward to watching it with the rest of the population of my home country especially as the ABC are going to the trouble to make sure we get it instead of making us wait months and months!

  3. It’s beginning to feel a lot like “Smithmas”. Nice to see the ABC had this up on their website (the trailer not CiN) within about four hours of it going to air in the UK.
