Report: Hamish & Andy poised for Nine

Hamish & Andy are reportedly poised to sign a 3 year deal with Nine that gives them complete creative control.

They have previously been at TEN and Seven, but Hamish & Andy could now be headed to the Nine Network, according to the Sunday Herald Sun.

The popular radio and TV presenters are poised to sign a 3 year deal with Nine that gives them complete creative control.

The deal would see them produce under their own Radio Karate production company.

Until now, most projects have been produced via Roving Enterprises for Network TEN. Both have proven very popular with the TEN audience. Their radio success and appearances in shows such as Spicks and Specks also ensures they have broad appeal.

Recently a TEN source told TV Tonight, talks with the pair were progressing well.

  1. From the comments on this site week after week you would think CH 9 was a failing disaster of a network, but week after week they seem to win All the key demos and sometime knock CH 7 from total people.

(One last thing – each network has a show or two that I like. Each network has a show or two that I choose not to watch – that’s life and why I love my remote! I used to like this site so much as I find TV and the ratings race exciting, now I rarely read past David’s insightful editorial because the blog is usually filled with nothing but negative comments from people wanting shows or networks to “fail”. Why anyone would want something to fail is beyond me)

  2. Wow.. I really though they were in the 10 stable if anything. Seems 10 is really changing these days.

Oh well.. will be checking out what they do with 9 now.

  3. I really enjoy H&A on the radio, but am a little concerned about their ability to produce great content through their own production company. Their best gear seemed to be on the radio show (whether filmed for TV or not), which had many people behind the scenes.

Hopefully they bring along their producer or some talent from Roving. H&A on 7 and Real Stories on Ten were decent, but not the quality of their radio show.

  4. well if they signed with 7. they would have to do at least 1 season of dancing with the stars, make 3 appearances a week on sunrise and 4 on better homes and gardens. and they would probably have to put up with today tonight having stories about their stalkers as well they have chosen the right network

  5. At least this gives ch 9 less opportunity and money to bring back Daryl Somers.

Sure it might give H & A total creative control but 9 are likely to kill it with their programming choices.

  6. Well thats a sure way to kill your career. Sign with Nine. I don’t believe it though. The tabloid paper’s tv reporters are all terrible with the stuff i’ve read, and the article quotes “sources” rather than Hamish & Andy themselves so unless it comes from this website it has no credibility.

  7. What a pair of sell outs… prostituting themselves to the highest bidder. If they were at all concerned with their long term future they would stick with TEN or go to the ABC where their talent will be nurtured and their output supported. They better have one great red hot idea if they go to Nine because it will be given less than a month to find an audience.

  8. Well if Nine pick up Hamish & Andy there could very well be a TGYH type backlash (after they went to Seven).

But in the end it doesn’t matter, as long as Ten does Micallef Tonight all is well in the TV universe!

  9. Good for them, they are good entertainers. I think moving away from the unsuccessful Roving Enterprises would be a better choice, it certainly was nowhere near the caliber of Working Dog.

  10. Oh God no! Nine can not make content for ‘young’ people. Just look at the 2009 craptactular ARIA Awards. But it is the Herald Sun so take it with a grain or an entire bag of salt.
