Site notice: Account suspended?

Site suspended? Did I pay that last bill? Did I offend a TV network?

Many readers would have noticed the site was offline yesterday from about 10am.

I was equally surprised to see the words “Account Suspended.”

Did I pay that last bill? Umm, yes.

Did I offend a TV network? Probably. Nothing new there.

Were Ben Elton and Mark Riley out to get me? Nah, other media have been way more harsh than me.

So what’s the deal? Server issues.

I was advised that attempts to start-up the site were yesterday were short-lived.

I received many messages of support yesterday, and quite a few that were clearly missing their TV updates. Some even offered financial help, thinking the bills hadn’t been paid. All 5 networks were in touch with me to ask when they could expect full service (Foxtel don’t you care….?), including publicists, journos, performers, and execs. It’s days like that you get a little reminder that you matter. Cheers.

The site came back online very early this morning so I have been able to add a few posts and hopefully today we can all resume normal programming.

Thanks to Crikey, Media Spy, Knowfirst and various goodfolk at Twitter for keeping others abreast of the action during this time. Apologies for the inconvenience.

  3. i am glad that you are back David i was suffering serve withdrawal symptoms yesterday without my fix of tv tonight i hope they give you a discount on your server fees for the trouble you had

    Yeah, Foxtel, what’s the deal? Your ads are all over this site. Somebody’s marketing budget might need a trim… Of course, don’t do the trimming here, though. What am I talking about? You’re not reading this anyway.

  12. I was absolutely devo too. Thanks to Crikey for making sure I was not in complete bewilderment all day.

    My first thought was similar to Camo’s – oh sugar IT have finally chucked me off my best favourite site. A quick check on my mobile phone though plus a little bit of googling and I realised I just had to be patient (which i am not)

    So hooray David’s back!! 🙂
