Just 16 seconds.

That’s all the BBC is letting us see from the next instalment of Doctor Who.

The show’s new run will begin in the UK in April, kicking off with two-part adventure ‘The Impossible Astronaut’ and ‘Day of the Moon’.

ABC1 is yet to confirm the Australian premiere.

Meanwhile, Torchwood has a new series poster.

  1. @A.: This has been complicated by the likelihood of the BBC showing episodes 1 and 2 over successive nights. If the ABC plays them over two weeks, Australia will be two weeks behind.

@MuchoTB: if you check the history of previous Doctor Who articles, you’ll find that Ben has consistently posted negative replies.

  2. Whats with this ‘troll’ rubbish? Maybe they just don’t like the show?

Does that mean everyone who bags out 2.5 Men and Today Tonight on this website, is a ‘troll’ as well?

Why are sci fi fans always the most angry, cynical, defensive fanatics on the internet?

The next trailer is now available at the official web site, without viewing restrictions! The call it the Prequel to Ep 1 …

I hope they keep it on Sunday. Preferably soon after Britain shows it. From half a day to two weeks at most. The earlier the better. I think they’ve shown it to be the best timeslot. So why ruin a good thing? It’ll also prevent some swashbucklers if it’s half a day later. So win-win-win. I’ll admit I don’t know if there will be any interruptions on the British end they’ll have to potentially consider. So I’ll understand if it has to be later. I just hope they don’t leave it too late as I don’t want to be spoiled as I go to internet news sites. That’s why half a day for the final episode would be perfect for many. Including me. I look forward to it either way.

  5. There’s a good guess that the new series may premiere on Saturday April 30, one week after the UK and the US get it. The repeat season of Doc Martin ends the week before, and Human Nature, on at 7:30pm on Sunday, is still halfway through its run.

  6. Will obviously hasn’t watched a show called 2 1/2 Men…or maybe he has which would explain a lot.
    V.v.v.excited about this. Especially Torchwood.

  7. @John, actually the psychology of trolling is fascinating but as you’ve surmised it’s about people who have low self-esteem, feel powerless in their daily lives and gain some kind of satisfaction from demeaning other people’s joy.

  8. What a sad sad sad troll like existence some people lead. To go to the effort of reading and then flaming something they have no interest in….. every single time! Can you imagine what their daily lives are like?

  9. Haha there use to a be saying “Early Bird catches the Worm” but now it’s “Early Ben catches the Doctor Who article”

Can’t wait to see the full trailer, apparently it’s coming on the weekend.
