Matthew Newton taken to hospital

Actor Matthew Newton was rushed to hospital with a suspected abdominal illness earlier today.

Newton’s lawyer Chris Murphy has tweeted:

Northside West Clinic rushed Matthew Newton by ambulance to Westmead Hospital today. After 12hrs he is being returned to the clinic.

Matthew Newton was kept for xrays &observation but requested to return to Northside. Diagnosis: stress related stomach issues. inflammation

Matthew Newton was taken with severe stomach cramping. He was treated with care and concern by Westmead staff.

Matthew Newton was concerned for his safety and welfare and refused to be kept for longer observation and was medicated & allowed to leave.
