Royal Wedding: TEN offers light-hearted coverage with Fitzy

Struth! TEN's squiz at Willsy's big day sure gets points for originality.

Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald will help give Network TEN alternative commentary to the Royal Wedding next month.

Fitzgerald, who appears on Before the Game and The 7PM Project, will offer a lighthearted alternative along with his NOVA radio co-host Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli. 7PM‘s UK correspondent Lucy McDonald will join them. This will surely differ from that offered by the ABC and BBC….

Others being sent to the UK include Hamish MacDonald, Sandra Sully and Carrie Bickmore.

TEN’s wedding week will also include the film William & Kate: A Modern Day Fairy Tale plus extended TEN News, 7PM Project and a primetime episode of The Circle.

  1. I can not believe the absolute ignorance this supposed “celebrity” of ours has shown through out the broadcast of the Royal Wedding. You obviously have no understanding of when to keep your mouth shut and when to make comments. Light hearted comments???? more like a load of absolute trash the comments were not funny at all and you have absolutely no respect for people who were wanting to actually hear what was being said. Ockers like you belong on stupid shows like big brother you actually fitted in there. A world wide event and we have you and your lame attempt at humour to represent us… omg thats a sad affair. Keep the aussie yobbos off the big coverages for goodness sake…

  2. Ah, nice – like Fitzy & Wippa … but all this coverage for some wedding in the UK, of two people who mean nothing to most people in this country?? Who cares!! Its moments like these that Foxtel is worth having 🙂

Like them or hate them, you have to give credit to Ten for doing something different / entertaining, instead of just all-night puff pieces / ACA / TT type stories … theres only so much crap you can talk about when it comes to a wedding.

    Um…this is April 1st isn’t it.

  4. Why do so many people care so much about this? I know Kate’s very attractive and all but really it’s another case of TV networks making a big deal about not very much, just like they do with repetitive blanket rolling news coverage.

  5. This lineup looks great! Will definitely be watching this. I’ve noticed Ten is affliating itself with Nova, with alot of Nova personalities appearing on the network. Maybe this is due to Hamish and Andy moving over to Nine and their association with The Today Network (Austereo).

  6. Lol DAN regarding Big Brother. I was just thinking the other day, given how poorly Ten’s 9:30pm shows are doing in this new environment, something like Big Brother could bring viewers back to that slot.

  7. Well the Royalists will probably hate it but I’m going to be watching on what Channel Ten is offering. (Although I’d rather Roy and HG do the commentary!). I’m excited about the “Recap & Debrief” show that the Circle girls and Colin will come up with. Definitely different from ‘the norm’ the other channels will dish up on the night!!!
