Channel Nine launched its new factual series AFP: Australian Federal Police at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra last night.
In attendance were senior personnel from the AFP, including the Deputy Commissioner Mike Phelan and the Head of Counter Terrorism.
They were joined by Nine’s Managing Director Jeffrey Browne, Director of Television Michael Healy, Zapruder’s Andrew Denton and Anita Jacoby and media.
Also at the event were many of the Federal Agents from the series.
The series, which sees its first episode chasing people smugglers in Indonesia, will premiere at 8pm next Tuesday on Nine.
Nine is also offering an interesting “Ask the AFP” opportunity on its website.

It’s an embarrassing joke of a show…don’t be fooled by Denton’s name!
Come on Channel 9 – ditch the cheesy ‘posed’ photo. Really takes away from the credibility of what should otherwise be a good show.
They may look like Central Casting but it turns out these folk are all actual AFP authentic.
Terrible photo for the AFP.
Looks like a Police Accademy film poster.
Geez! Are Nine getting actual police officers to pose like that? It’s one thing to get their ‘reporters’ from Sixty Minutes to look all serious (even when most of their stories aren’t) for the promos, but how embarrassing for the AFP.
is this a remake of the keystone cops?
I agree! Check out the promo on You Tube youtube.com/channel9?gl=AU&hl=en-GB#p/a/u/1/zYxD9zZL0wk
This series looks fantastic. Can’t wait.
