29 year old Blair Milan, a young actor who had guest roles in television shows while forging a career in showbiz, has died suddenly of myeloid leukaemia.

Milan wasn’t yet a well-known actor but he made appearances in Review with Myles Barlow, Home and Away, All Saints, Morning with Kerri-Anne, Superman Returns, commercials and stage productions in Sydney and London.

When GO! launched he was the face of the channel in TV promos.

Over the past few weeks, he put down a lack of appetite and general sickness to a slow recovery from dental work at the end of March.

Last Wednesday, after urgings by his flatmate, he visited a GP. The next day, blood tests revealed he was suffering acute myeloid leukaemia. Within hours he was on life support at Royal Prince Alfred hospital, where he died in the early hours of Sunday.

Late last year, he and his mother made a 13-part TV series Lyndey & Blair’s Taste of Greece, which SBS is due to broadcast later this year.

  1. I have just watched Taste of Greece which Blair filmed with Lyndey. I was so sad when I heard the news. My thoughts are with his family and friends. As Xmas approaches now, it will be hard, but he will be watching over them.*R.I.P Beautiful* xxx

  2. Why can’t understand beauitful young man it’s not right is it be brave and tolerant to your pain my feelings go out to the mother of this so young man god bless

  3. RIP Blair. A few years ago my Brother in Law was diagnosed with leukaemia and rushed to hospital. Luckily he went into remission, but I saw how fast it can go from someone just having a feeling of sickness to fighting for life.

  4. Was truly shocked when I heard this Monday morning, such a wonderfully talented guy with the world at his feet.

A sharing caring kind of guy that always made you feel special.

Thoughts are with Lyndey, Nigel, John, Lucy and family.

    Gone to soon.

  5. So sad… I remember him from Nickelodeon’s “Coast to Coast”, a series where a bunch of kids from all over the world were chosen by Nick to travel across America together. He was the Aussie kid, along with an Aussie girl, Jasmine. Out of all the kids, 14 yr old Blair was the one with all the personality.

I watched it in 1996 when my family first got Galaxy. It was filmed in 1995, so around the time Nickelodeon was launching in Australia. (wow, that long ago!)

Throughout the years I had always wondered what ever happened to those kids, as you don’t even hear about this show any more (and barely anything can be found online). Now I hear this news about Blair… It seems that Blair has since been on our TV screens quite a bit. Didn’t even realise his mum was famous.

Such a tragic loss of not just a fine actor with a lot of potential, but also a brother and a son. My prayers are with his family and loved ones.

  6. Absolutely frightening, what a shocking waste of a young life. RIP Blair and may God bless his family and friends who must be inconsolably grief-stricken by this tragic event.
