Oops! Nine’s nudie run

Tim McMillan was so in the moment during a live cross to Peter Overton that he failed to notice a "nudie run" in the background.

Well done to Tim McMillan who was so in the moment during a live cross to Peter Overton that he failed to notice a “nudie run” in the background on Nine News.

Somebody tell the giant seagull we’re ready for his next appearance?

Amazing timing – Just as he was saying “everyone is rugged up” ….

  2. Kenny – Nine are very big on pointless live crosses in the belief that it makes the bulletin seem dynamic and alive. Practically every time there’s a public transport story they send some reporter out to stand in front of the turnstiles at Penrith station for a 30 second cross, in which he gives a minor piece of information which could easily have been put in the main story. It is a majestic waste of their employees’ time.

  3. Wonder at the cost of sending a crew all the way to Katoomba to have someone stand in front of a building where there’s no snow, then to use WIN Orange overlay material. (The same shots were used by WIN during the early afternoon in local news promos for WIN News.)
WIN News did it much better, showing actual snow scenes rather than some boring reporter standing in front of a building, which could have been downtown Willoughby (well, wouldn’t be the first time).

  4. I saw the news last night but I didn’t actually notice the nudie, it was only in the Today’s show clip of the day that I got aware of it… the bloke was interviewed after and there was even a song for the streaker, hahaha!
