Project hits 500

The 7PM Project reaches its 500th episode, a milestone for a show many didn't expect to survive its first year.

The 7PM Project reaches its 500th episode this week (today apparently), a milestone for a show many didn’t expect to survive its first year.

To mark the occasion, all this week the show has an ordinary Aussie joining the panel every night of the week.

Last week’s politician co-hosts proved vibrant entertainment when Bob Katter got testy when interviewing Greg Combet over the carbon tax.

Who knows if 7PM will discover a new media star this week? Let’s hope they are equally outspoken….

  1. @steve, going off of last weeks demo figures from mon-thurs it came third in each of the three key demo’s every night except Thursday when it just beat H&A in 16-39.

  2. Good on them.We used to be a 2.5 men household till the constant repeats of that crap drove us insane and now watch the 7pm project which me and my mother are loyal viewers in the absence of anything half decent elsewhere.I hope Nine once the Block ends cashes in on this success and introduce their News/Chat Show as competition with Karl Stefanovic and Leila McKinnon at the same hour.Overshown Out of Date US Sitcoms unless you have never seen them before in your life are not going to cut it up against a Soap or a Fresh Take on the News.

  3. Congrats 7pm. They have their critics, but they also have a very loyal audience, myself being one of them, who enjoy the show very much 🙂

  4. I like this show, it delivers what it promises, rarely seems to run over. Not surprised that there is a bit of cross promo and you can watch 5,10 or 20 mins as you please. Keep it going guys

  5. @ deedeedragons…..I think the point is….it must be doing well to reach 500…..they would not have got there if the show had been canned….
    Well done 7PM!!!!!!

  6. Good on them.If it hadn’t made it Ten would still be relying on out of Date American Sitcoms at 7pm.

I mean what could they replace it with?Friends and Seinfeld are now on GO so not an option and Everybody Loves Raymond is on 11 so can’t be used. The only real viable option would have been to send the Bold and Beautiful to the scrapheap making 4 to 5pm once again a kid friendly hour like it used to be with shows suitable for them and to put that Cooking show with Justine Schofield to 7pm weeknights in the absence of anything suitable.

  7. I love me some 7PM. Sometimes their biased, but despite that it’s a fun show overall (which was the original brief of the show). Congrats, guys! 🙂

  8. Well done 7pm. I still enjoy watching the program and even though they have had there critics they have still battled on.

Also well done channel 10 for staying loyal and backing the program.

  9. I enjoy having it on in the background – it’s a decent take at the news and issues of the day, but I really do cringe every time they do a cross promotion with Masterchef (or something else on Ten). Surely they can find something else to talk about than just blatantly plugging what’s on next.
