Spicks-and-Specktacular takes to the road

To mark the end of their seven year run on the ABC, the Spicks and Specks gang are hitting the road to say goodbye.

To mark the end of their seven year run on the ABC, the Spicks and Specks gang are hitting the road to say goodbye.

Kicking off at Sydney’s Hordern Pavillion, this will be a chance for audiences to say their farewells -at least until the next time the team decide to do a Farnsy / Seekers-style revival.

“The last Spicks and Speck-tacular was a hoot,” said Adam Hills. “And this time we’ve pulled out all the stops to say farewell to our fans with a bang. It’s a great chance to say goodbye in person while pretending we’re rock stars. Of course, we’ll actually have real rock stars with us (The Specktors), so Alan, Myf and I will be desperately trying to keep up.”

Myf Warhurst said: “What I love about the live show is that it gives the audience that the opportunity to answer the questions. It takes the pressure of me having to lose to Alan, AGAIN. I think that’s brilliant.”

Alan Brough added: “Very few people get to be part of something as wonderful as Spicks and Specks and even fewer people get to celebrate its conclusion with a live show that’ll make U2′s recent tour look like West Perth Primary School’s 1982 Eisteddfod entry.”

The Specktors, Kit Warhurst, Gus Agars, Steve Hesketh will provide the music as the travelling show makes its way from Sydney to Newcastle, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Wollongong, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, finishing up in the place where it all began, Melbourne.

  1. Jeez – what is it with all the whinging these days?
@ Kirk – it’s “disgusting”? What an over-reaction! Children starving needlessly in Africa is disgusting, mate. Get a grip on reality.
Do you lot post your moanings on the website of Every show that you think is over-priced? Get a life! If I think a show is over-priced I just don’t go. I sure as hell don’t go to the website and complain about it, though – I just give it a miss. Attendance isn’t compulsory, you know? Do you think you’ll get a special price by whining about it?
    Ohhhh – it’s So expensive!!
Ohhhh – why won’t they play Every major town in Australia?
    Ohhhh – it’s not Fair!!!

If it’s all too much for you just stay at home and whinge and whine to yourselves…

  2. I’m really excited to send this show out in the fashion it deserves, although the ticket prices are really dear! How will this show work, will it be like the TV show with guests?

  3. Brisbane…..do they know that there are actual towns north of there like Rocky, Mackay, Townsville, Cairns etc. If international artists like Guns and Roses, Tim McGraw, Elton John and even aussie show RockWiz can do it then why can’t Spics and Specs. As Derryn would say, Shame, Shame, Shame

  4. Apparently the world ends at Brisbane, we must be in limbo.
I hate that, us northeners love the show as much as anyone else and helped make it a success too.
Even go to Mackay, that’s good for the northern crowd.
    Please?

  5. Woohoo!! If you even just tolerate the TV show, go to the live shows. They are awesome. Adam, Allan And Myf are so funny. Can’t wait (BTW, QI is coming to Melbourne too!!) Double Woohoo 🙂
