ABC2 will begin their final season of The Graham Norton Show before it switches to TEN.

Joining Graham this week are Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet to talk about her remarkable career and new film ‘Contagion’; top comedian Rob Brydon; actor Jamie Bell, now starring as Tintin in the new Spielberg movie; and indie band Noah and the Whale who will be performing ‘Life.Goes.On’.

This aired in the UK in late October.

Guests in the upcoming weeks will include James McAvoy, Joanna Lumley, Arctic Monkeys, Johnny Depp, Ricky Gervais, Ed Byrne, Snow Patrol, Cliff Richard, Alan Sugar, and Kelly Rowland.

ABC2 also has a New Year’s Eve Norton special next month (yes NYE is next month!).

UPDATE: ABC now advises it will have a first run Xmas Eve special for Norton and will run a repeat of NYE special from series 10 on Dec 31.

9:35pm Thursday November 10.

  1. The reason why it is going to Chanel ten is because Chanel ten has nothing but shitte on. And they are too scared to do something different other then reality shows. So when they got a Wiff that TGNS on ABC was doing rather well they jumped on it. Now we have to endure watching the show being ruined, just like Top Gear by Harvey Norman ads. This is just as upsetting when the cobert report and the daily show was removed from ABC because comedy Chanel had exclusive rights to them.

  2. Ah – I never knew that was how to check. Looks like they have removed the icon now. Pity, as I didn’t bother tuning in last week, assuming I could later catch up on iView.

  3. David, no sign of The Graham Norton Show on ABC iView – which contradicts your information.

Any ideas why it’s not on iView, when you seem to believe it should be?

  4. Great news to hear that GN will be returning to ABC.
Not so great news that it will be shown on Channel 10 in 2012.
I hope Channel 10 don’t stuff it up.

    David,
Do you know the reason why the ABC has lost GN to Channel 10.

  5. Excellent re being on iView. I always used to miss the show last season. I’m guessing ABC must have negotiated to have online streaming rights included this season.

  6. Every UK series from The BBC doesn’t have natural breaks yet the networks here seem to make it work. Attenborough series as very latest example.
It’s been that way since the first BBC series was shown in Australa including talk shows.

  7. I don’t think I could really be bothered watching Graham Norton with ads in it. At least not on television. In fact, I don’t think I feel like watching anything on channel 10 anymore.

  8. I was in the audience for the Royal Wedding episode in April and the show went for about 90 minutes without any real stoppages. It was brilliant to witness and Graham was fantastic. It will be hard having ad breaks spoiling the flow but I will still watch the show.

  9. David, has ABC indicated if this season will be on iView? It’s been noticeably absent from iView in previous seasons, making it quite difficult to watch for those of us that don’t sit around the house every night.

  10. Love Graham but also worried about it being on Ten. Still, I’m a glass half-full person so I’ll just be thankful that Nine didn’t steal it.

  11. Oh dear….I do remember David reporting this….just forgot…..
I do not watch anything on ch.10 these days…it was once my fave channel…
What a dilemma…..Love Graham Norton…..but ads to disrupt the flow of the show….and, as stated by Craig….will it stay put in the one spot/time?

  12. @ Belinda. I too was surprised Cliff would be on, but Graham gives it to everyone, so maybe it is a badge of honor to be ‘bagged by Graham’? 🙂 Love this show, but Ten had best do it some justice, pick a time and not stuff with it.

  13. Didn’t know that this was moving to 10.
Will make it much more difficult to watch as no doubt it will be moved around the schedule each week on different days/ times/ channels.

  14. Oh I am so glad we don’t have to wait for Ten to show this next year. I am amazed Cliff Richard would appear on the show after all the jokes Graham makes about his personal life. Should be interesting to watch them interact.
