Hillsy but not as you know him

Producers are talking to networks about a new scripted comedy featuring Adam Hills -but not as his loveable self.

Producers of a new scripted comedy featuring Adam Hills and a number of profile performers are currently in talks with several networks.

Die on Your Feet is an 8 part comedy featuring Hills, Alan Brough, Greg Fleet, Corinne Grant and Steven Gates -but none are playing themselves.

Directed by Ted Robinson (Good News Week) the project was shot over 11 weeks earlier this year.

“It’s British in style, with no laugh track and shot on location. They are five stand-up comedians playing characters, not themselves, trying to make a go of it in the Melbourne Comedy Festival,” a source tells TV Tonight.

Described as being ‘unashamedly quirky’ the project was based on a play written by Greg Fleet, first performed in 2005.

It also features Justin Hamilton and the late Bill Hunter.

Adam Hills fans could also be surprised to see him playing an “acidic” character rather than his loveable self.

  1. C’mon network programmers! This gets shelved yet we’re getting It’s a Knockout and Big Brother. It’s not hard to figure why our comic talent pack their bags for the UK.

  2. About time they got that thing out. I’m looking forward to it. I think half the people who attended the festival that year ended up involved in some way or another! I know the entire Good News Week audience got involved…

  3. Yep shot last year. Possibly the year before but pretty sure it was last year. Was made without a commission. Someone will probably pick it up for the drama points.

  4. Hills as an a**hole – because that’s what people really want to see….

“In talks with several networks” = ‘for the love of G*d please someone buy this thing we made back in 1978’.
