Monday’s three-way tussle between Reality shows (all three commercial networks played Reality content from 7:30 – 8pm), saw Seven in front of the two weight-loss shows.
My Kitchen Rules topped 1.56m viewers. By comparison The Biggest Loser was 811,000 and Excess Baggage was 610,000. While the latter was up on its Thursday performance, it tracks behind last Monday’s 880,000 premiere.
Seven led from 6pm to 9:30pm with Seven News just under 1.12m, Today Tonight on 1.04m, Home and Away on 1.06m and Please Marry my Boy on 1.17m. How I Met Your Mother was 663,000 / 522,000 and Sports Fever was 200,000.
Nine News was best for Nine at just under 1.1m, then ACA on 958,000, The Big Bang Theory (902,000 / 816,000, 728,000). The Mentalist was 601,000 / 423,000. Nine’s new Mornings debuted to 104,000 against The Morning Show (166,000).
Loser led TEN’s primetime offerings then NCIS: LA (692,000), Bondi Rescue (581,000), and The Project (534,000).
ABC Mondays returned with ABC News (1.00m), Australian Story (860,000), 7:30 (767,000), Four Corners (703,000), Media Watch (789,000) and Q & A winning its slot on 684,000.
It was a low night for SBS with World News Australia on 168,000 and Mythbusters on 161,000.
NFL Super Bowl was 160,000 Live on ONE.

Excess Baggage is a dead duck.
@Anthony Ma – Would mean the TV is still on though! 🙂
Craig, I reckon it’s the fact that eating in front of the TV is easier than losing weight in front of the TV. People want to relax in front of the TV.
Nice to see The Biggest Loser and The Project heading upwards in the ratings.
MKR was a cracker last night, the army boys seem like great guys. Should have played a drinking game based on all their army references/analogies.
So I guess this means a lot more people want to eat food rather than loose weight?
So do we have a pool going as to how long EB will keep going before Nine gives it the boot? Or moves it to GO! or GEM?
Is it me or are the Mythbusters numbers down on what they used to be?
@Charlie Miso: they fall asleep during Q&A 🙂
@David,
Well it did air between 9-10am.. but that’s fine. I’ll check in again tomorrow 🙂 Thank you
Steve: You’re right. 51,000.
Wonder where the 100,000 people go between Media Watch and Q&A.
Especially due to the dodgy finishing time of MW.
Bondi Rescue was amazing last night! What a shame that it only got 581,000… I hope that number increases.
How’s The Circle fairing these days David? Please..
The Circle was off while Super Bowl was on.
I’m glad The Morning Show beat out Channel Nine’s clone.
