New content deal for Matchbox Pictures

Matchbox Pictures has forged a deal with KidsCo to develop a new short-form series and screen My Place into new territories.

Matchbox Pictures has forged a deal with international kids’ channel KidsCo to develop a new short-form series and sold My Place into new territories.

Both entities are partly-owned by NBCUniversal International.

My Place (Series One and Two) will broadcast in the second half of 2012 across Eastern Europe and Asia. It previously aired in Australia on ABC3.

The new short-form series was developed in collaboration with Australian actress, comedian and writer, Julie Eckersley, and the created by Troy and Zara Swindells-Grose. It will air internationally in early 2013 across all KidsCo territories.

Hendrik McDermott, Managing Director of KidsCo, added: “Sourcing high-quality international content remains key to our growth strategy. As we continue to invest in and strengthen our programming line-up, working with a prestigious production company like Matchbox Pictures is a great step forward for KidsCo.”
