Seven reporter to face court

Seven journalist Rahni Sadler will face court next month accused of illegally communicating with Bradley John Murdoch in a Sunday Night story.

Seven journalist Rahni Sadler will face court next month accused of illegally communicating with Bradley John Murdoch, convicted of the 2001 murder of Peter Falconio.

The charges follow an interview on Sunday Night last July which aired a phone conversation between Murdoch and his friend Andrew Fraser.

Yesterday prosecutors in the Northern Territory agreed to drop charges against Seven, but will press ahead with those against Sadler.

It is illegal to communicate with a prisoner in the Northern Territory without permission.

Sadler will face court on August 23rd and 24th in Darwin Magistrates Court.

Fraser is also the subject of the Pay TV miniseries Killing Time starring David Wenham, which Seven is set to screen.
