  1. Families was the worst they enable each other, the challenges were boring and it’s to hard to connect looks like another bomb for 10 after the shire the dance thing to name a few

  2. @dan – no, I was thinking of the Aussie version. I am happy to be wrong though, but I do know that the comments in social media weren’t as favourable for families and I also know that personally I found it boring and I nearly didn’t come back the next year until they changed their minds and made it not about families (which was another indicator to me that it did not do as well as they thought).

But anyhoo, all good now. As I said earlier, I probably will not watch because of the family scenario, but if everyone else enjoys it then good on Ten for showing it 🙂

  3. I think singles is much better, more of a competition than family version. This yr didnt do so well because of strong comp, Ten need to be smart about when they put this on, do they go head to head with mkr or do they hold off till after

  4. The last families season was the first one I watched and realised how good a show it was. Been hooked since. I tried the Yankie version but it was nauseating – ours was much better.

I do believe Families 2011 was one of their most successful seasons in recent years. The casting that year was fantastic, which probably helped. That year the trainers went to stay with the families in their homes which was great for so many reason, including character development.

  6. Actually it was the couples version of the show that didn’t rate well. The Families version actually saw a huge lift in the ratings two years ago and it was surprising that they didn’t keep it going for atleast two years. With the extra added trainer ‘Tiffany’ the show saw a few more viewers join in than in previous seasons.

  7. I saw this yesterday and my first thought…

    “Families… again!!!”

    WTF

David, you have been following the ratings more closely than I over the past 7 years, but wasn’t families one of the worst rating seasons? Also, didn’t it cop more of a hammering from critics and social media than other seasons?) – that was the impression I got.
