  1. @ Maev.

Without knowing what episodes they’ve skipped in the past, I’d imagine it’d probably be due to the subject’s profile outside of the US.

Take Jerome Bettis as an example, as a NFL player 9 may feel he doesn’t have the name recognition here to draw in enough casual viewers.

  2. @Lyn – given the US version is just over 40 min long they could not fit in 3 ad breaks at 15 minutes apart. But we 3 ad breaks they would have more than 10 minutes to fill in the hour.

Nine is not likely to promote this, just burning it off late night until it’s done.

  3. @ Craig …. The back from break recaps would drive us crazy and tarnish our enjoyment of the show. The same thing with The First 48 and I guess many other shows. I wonder what the problem is? Do Americans have such a poor attention span that they need intensive reminders after a break of a few minutes? We are still going to watch it.

  4. Great news 🙂 I’ll set the vcr 🙂

I was hoping SBS would buy this US series
then it would only have 3 ad breaks every 15mins.
Not the ads ever 7 mins Ch 9 shows.
It was always harder to follow on 9.

  5. FYI – NBC canceled this in the US, there will be no S4.

No surprise really, the US one was never up to the same quality as the UK original or even our version. Biggest problem was each ad break they would recap what was happening, so the 40 min show would further be reduced. In the UK its 60 min and no ads, just the way they intended it.

David I would not be surprise if they skip some again. Maybe they will surprise us and finally air the missing ones from past seasons?
