  1. Can we all get a kickstarter together and start a proper Sci-fi channel.

I never watched Alphas. However it just seems more and more in line with the SyFy channel not really liking SyFy. They want things to be big hits or dump them. There’s no commitment to anything. Whatever the longer running shows they have now, they’re dialing back orders to end. Nothing lasts any more.

I think they’re focusssing on cheap reality shows, re-runs and wrestling.

I’m still damn annoyed at them for how they ended Stargate. Stargate Universe has a sloppy start but it go so good and had such a great momentum getting better and more interesting. Then it just ends.

As I said, I never watched Alphas but shows like this I now tend to wait before I watch. I am sick of getting burned with so many sci-fi shows not given a chance.

I also think we should pass a law in the united nations that any TV series that lasts more than 10 episodes that has an ongoing story but get a final episode to end it.

  2. The first couple of episodes of Alphas weren’t that good, but they tweaked it and it got better. The 2nd season plot was OK until the last couple of episodes where it got silly — like they knew it would be axed and didn’t care anymore.

There isn’t a lot of SF serial TV being made anymore. Eureka finished up last summer in US, we just haven’t got to see the final season yet.

  3. johnjet: done and done!! I will be extolling the virtues of Australia’s Next Top Model and The Carrie Diaries enthusiastically!!! I’d like to add that I hated Firefly, Fringe and also Dark Skies. Dark Skies starred Eric Close who was pretty much the Kiss of Death himself to most shows he was in.

  4. I’ve still got a couple of episodes to watch from season 1 that was on 7Mate.
I didn’t like it at first but it did improve as it went along.
I hope 7Mate don’t make us wait forever for season 2.

  5. This show was terrible, wooden acting, and mediocre plots. The whole Stanley Parrish storyline in season two was ridiculous.

Being Human (US) and Eureka are good shows but this show is woeful, I’m surprised it was renewed for a second season at all

  6. I am the Kiss of Death to shows, I swear. Just yesterday I was enthusiastically encouraging my friend to watch Alphas, because I really liked it, and now it is gone. I am just not going to publicly like shows any more.
