Yes Jodie Foster’s speech at the start mainly was bit stilted, and all over the place but it did get better perhaps the occasion and nerves got the better of her.
She is very private person so for her to have her sons there was a big moment I did like how she paid tribute to her mother who has dementia and the comment “Now, every celebrity is expected to honour the details of their private life with a press conference, a fragrance and a primetime reality show.”
An award richly deserved for a wonderful actor, producer and director with an amazing body of work.
it’s a shame they kept interrupting the insurance commercials with an excellent show
So happy for Lena & for “Girls”. New series started this week too!
Homeland????…….the first season was good but i spent most of my time this year with my finger on the fast forward button, waiting for something to happen. Not to mention the mind numbing daughter storyline?
Typical stupid american awards they are all the same
Run by the Hollywood Foreign Press Assoc. so it’s actually full of international journos (although the membership has always been a point of debate).
@Tony Bee – that was one of the minor categories awarded before the start of the broadcast. (Her crazy eyes won it).
Jodie Foster was completely and utterly cryptic. Is she leaving acting altogether? Crazy bizarre speech.
Looking at some of the Twitter feeds, a local FTA network could do worse than to pick this up and screen a really slick edited version. Carry all the film awards and exclude anything that isn’t on Australian FTA. It would have to rate better than some offerings, surely?
Smash was a comedy? Who knew …Oh (penny drops) it was a Musical.
Is this last years awards?
House of Lies is a terrible show, Kristen Bell and Don Cheadle are the only good things about it.
Homeland is a deserving winner. Odd that Girls beat out Modern Family in the Best Comedy category
Claire Danes? Did they have a category for over-acting?
Great to see Homeland and it’s stars getting praise, but I think The Newsroom was more worthy. Don Cheadle is brilliant in Hou$e of Lie$ and definitely derves it. Thanks ONE for showing the entire first season without editing it down to half an hour (with it being 30 minute episodes that take up 45 minutes of on air time including ads). Hopefully season 2 isn’t too far off.
Not complaining about any choices so far.
