New South Wales drama map

2013-08-19_2017In Part 2 of TV Tonight‘s look at where our dramas are made we check out New South Wales.

Amongst key areas used by our scripted dramas, comedies and kids television are:

  • King’s Cross: Carlotta and Love Child
  • Parramatta: Home and Away, Janet King, Love Child
  • Sutherland Shire: Puberty Blues

Regional areas include Camden for A Place to Call Home, Lismore for The Gods of Wheat Street, and Picton for Dance Academy.

Please note these area mappings are general only, and not designed to reflect actual street locations. They also don’t include studio interiors.

NB: Untitled Chris Lilley project declined to participate.

  1. Home and Away films some of it’s court scenes at UWS Campbelltown’s moot court.

  2. Now I get it. Thank you Carlotta and Love Child for making it impossible to park around The Cross for much of the year!
Also, it’s funny how the Sydney shows try to look like they could be anywhere – I heard someone from Wonderland say just that this week – while the Melbourne shows so highlight the place that you really want to be there. Way to go Melbourne!

  3. Lets not forget the ultimate kiss of death location for a few recent shows and that’s Wollongong. Headland and Tricky Business were filmed there.
