Australian Diamonds Netball matches on SBS

SBS will broadcast Constellation Cup netball matches with the Australian Diamonds Live in September and October.

2013-09-10_1409SBS will broadcast five netball matches between the Australian Diamonds and the New Zealand Silver Ferns as part of the Constellation Cup Live across Australia in September and October.

There will also be two test matches between the Australian Diamonds and the Malawi Queens in October.

The five match series will be the first under new Australian Captain Laura Geitz and will see the trans-Tasman rivalry reignited as Australia and New Zealand meet for the last time ahead of the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

New Zealand will host the first two tests in Invercargill and Auckland before the series heads to Adelaide, Melbourne and Canberra.

SBS’s live coverage of the Constellation Cup will be hosted by Tracey Holmes with analysis from 2007 World Championship winner Selina Hornibrook. Tracey and Selina will be joined by former Australian Diamond Mo’onia Gerrard for the first test on Sunday 15 September, and NSW Swifts shooter Susan Pratley for the remaining six tests.

  1. Netball is a non-contact sport. Doesn’t mean that contact never happens just that it is always a foul.

    I have seen netball at all levels and don’t like it or what it does to knees, much prefer basketball with dribbling and the extra step.

    But good that the games are on FTA for fans without Foxtel. Sports are realising that FTA is useful for growing games and ensuring their future. The ARU said today they want to get some Super Rugby back on FTA.

  2. Woot woot. If you haven’t watched netball at this level you are in for a treat. And forget all that b/s about a non-contact sport. I hear the Silver Ferns have the All Blacks as training partners.
