The Good Wife returns for Season 5 on TEN soon, this season with Melissa George in a recurring role.
It returns to Wednesday nights, replacing This Week Live.
Things kick off right where we left the show in S4.
Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) has just been crowned the mayor of Illinois, while Alicia (Juliana Margulies) and Cary (Matt Czuchry) have agreed to break away from Lockhart/Gardiner to start their own firm. While racing the clock trying to prove the innocence of a client on a death row, Alicia is also torn between her alliance with Cary and the fourth year associates and her emotional connection to Will. Could she let the cat out of the bag to the firm’s partners before everyone is ready to make their move? Plus, our own Melissa George begins her guest role as Marilyn, the smart and sexy ethics counsel at the mayor’s office.
9:30pm Wednesday October 23 on TEN.

Thank god. I thought we were going to have to wait till next year!!! Yay. Can’t wait!!
Next – Seven – Bring back Parenthood (oh and while your at it, Cougar Town).
@Qubec Before Feb next year doesnt have the same ring to it but you know what I mean…Re Parenthood its not coming back this year according to TV Week
Nope sorry Ten gave up waiting for you ;)
Not too far behind the US? Fast tracked?
Are you all still suffering from network Stockholm syndrome? A month is far too long nowadays. I’m over waiting. Hulu is your friend. You snooze networks, you lose. The Mentalist and Parenthood I’m looking at you as well…
Awesome! Only returning show I wanted fast tracked. Happy it still retains the same timeslot as well!
And he doesn’t actually get ‘crowned’ as Governor until a few episodes into the season…
Ten needs to sort themselves out.
Awesome news, I’m a fan of Melissa George so it’ll be great seeing her back on Aussie screens.
Who wrote the synopsis? TEN? Glad to see that they know the show they screen.
Peter Florrick is now Governor of Illinois – not the mayor. Just a slight difference. ;)
Terrific news. I just hope it gets numbers that reflect how great a show it is.
Now this is good news.
now if only it received the ratings it deserves…
I’m going to need another DVR.
Grrrrreat! Thanks TEN.
Yes, yes and double yes!
Great news, we won’t be too far behind the US then.
